Just watched Makeover Wish and felt compelled to find out about this fabulous lady who is such an inspiration. I am sad to see that she has passed, but, amazed that she is still making an impact on this world. I hope her family realizes that her legacy of kindness and love still lives on. I lost my father 7 years ago, so I understand how our lived ones are always missed, but I keep him alive by carrying out his example in my own life. You have quite the shoes to fill…do it with every ounce of love you have for her. God bless.

Have been missing you like crazy mum. I really miss being able to call or come see you when I need you the most. You are my inspiration to do well in life as you are the one who gave me a chance to truly be something special. The pain of you gone will never go away but knowing you are watching over me until I see you again in heaven is comforting. I love you and miss you Mum.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to all the family.
My earlier memories were in Thonbury. Going to church every Sunday and then going over for lunch. Mrs Lochhead was a great host/cook! And after moving out west, the door was always open. I was very lucky to visit/stay for two summers, hanging out with Melanie, Jim and Jennifer, as well as the rest of the family!
I am very lucky to have been able to reconnect with Melanie, Jennifer and Jim in the past couple years but have only been out west in the past year.
She will always be tresured in our hearts and greatly missed.

I remember Ann well. We spent about 12 years together in Guiding and she was always a shining example. In our first year together she gave me some words that have lasted and served me well(I have passed them on to my children and many others.) I was having a difficult experience as a commissioner and she informed me very gently, “There are no mistakes only learning experiences.” I knew she was private and serious, but just when I thought I knew what was coming there was that glint in her eye and she was as mischievous as any of the girls.
Blessing to all you who carry her legacy

I Pauline Allsop (Vic Bond’s sister) and Shawn’s aunt…along with my husband Dale and our family wish to extend sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. Even though I did not have the opportunity to meet her in person I did hear of her in conversation and I did have the opportunity to wait on Jum in my Tim Horton’s store here in Taber. You are in our thoughts and on our minds today as there is no greater loss in life than that of one’s dear mother.

Ann was a wonderful person and will be missed by all. I was fortunate to have spent two Guiding times with her, first 20 years ago with my older daughter and more recently with my youngest. One of my favourite memories of Ann was of seeing her riding her bike. It always made me smile.
Our deepest condolences to all of her family.

Melaine — We are so sorry to hear about your Mom. Through knowing you and meeting some of your family, I know that she was a warm and loving Mother who opened her arms to all around her. Her spirit and love were obviously passed down to her children who were both born into and passed through her house. I wish you all the best in this very difficult time. It is always hard to lose your Mother, especially at this time of year. She will live forever in your hearts and memories. Take care and lean on your friends and family in this trying time.

Ann was my forever friend. My family met her and her family in Thornbury. We had great times teaching at nursery school and as guide leaders. She had 6 kids and I had one. We had many laughs solving the world’s problems while riding bikes though the apple orchards. Ann was my mentor & sounding board. She really had a good common sense approach to life. And boy could she cook. I will miss her. My thoughts are with all of you.

Ann will be missed by all of you, but, not forgotten.
I lived down the street from you for years. Shawn & Jeremy were involved in Beavers & Scouts with William & Dude. I was involved with Ann on commitees with Beavers & Scouts in the Hammond area. I would see her always in her Girl Guide uniform. I knew she was in the highest regard in that organization. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members.

Ann and I were ‘attached at the hips’ during our years at Macdonald college and McGill University. We worked as camp counselors at the Crippled Childrens’ Camp in Ayers Cliff, Quebec, and hitched-hike just to see how far we could get on our days off. We joined Cadets together after each had come up through the rank of Girls Guides. We attended concerts by Pete Segar, Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, and the like. Ann was without a doubt the best friend, I ever. When she and David were married, I was a bridesmaid. It was a challenge to maintain close contact as I went to Japan for several years and since then have lived in New England, while Ann was in various parts of Canada raising her wonderful family. We were able to get together only occasionally, but remained close in our hearts. She is sadly missed and will never forgotten.
