It is with great sadness that the family of William Young Stewart mourns his sudden passing at the age of 93. Predeceased by his wife Mary (Williamson). Survived by his sons Bill (Heather), Dan and Ian, and brothers-in-law Robert Williamson (Betty), Grandchildren Bill (Heather), Brenda (Karl), Jennifer, Glen (Lindsay) and Meghan (Chris), great grandchildren Kayla, River, Nicholas, Caiden, Jackson and Emmi.
Bill was born in Paisley, Scotland and served in the Royal Navy during the war. He emigrated to Canada with his family in 1949. Bill enjoyed sailing, soccer, and golf and played in several bagpipe bands in the Lower Mainland. He worked at the Vancouver Park Board until his retirement.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Maple Ridge Legion, March 4th from 1 – 3 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Cancer Society.
