I met and knew Ron through Terry Cheramy (my long-time friend) and her sister Jenny. It seems like it has always been “Jenny & Ron” Their dedication, love, and loyalty for each other was obvious, as was their mutual love for animals . My favourite “Ron” memory goes back to Terry & Louis’ wedding in the Dominican Republic. It was 2004, and my daughter Devin was almost 4 years old. We all hung out at the pool, and she was in there a lot. Ron decided to call her “Ariel” Well, you couldn’t say something more special to a little girl that age. She has always remembered him for that, it was priceless. Rest in Peace Ron. ** Leisa, Ron, Ethan & Devin **

Knowing Ron is to know a friend of compassion, empathy and love for family, friends and animals and to the newly acquainted! There was no nonsense with Ron but a well spoken word of common sense! Ron had a big heart and although Ron, you have touched so many with your unrelentless understanding and compassion none will miss you more than those so close to you! RIP Ron, you truly were a champion!

When I think of Ron King what first comes to mind is the deep compassion that he had for all of life. Whether saving a mother cat with kittens from the roadside or adopting a rescue dog from the pound (several that I know of!), Ron was always in loving service to others. I am especially grateful for the love and devotion he had for my sister Jenny oner these past 26 years and I thank the day that Ron came into our family.
My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him.

Ron was one of my mentors in life, met him several yeas back, approximately 26 years ago. We bumped heads, because we were so much alike., but he was like my father,. Ron I respected and we became good solid friends. I respected his occupation, his dedication and his love for animals. He was a loyal, soft, and firm man of dignity and with a no nonsense character. You will BE sadly missed, but never forgotten and thank you Ron for standing tall, and being such a good loving honorable man. Love ya lots

I’m very grateful to have known Ron and have him as a member of our family. I’ll admit that I was in awe of his career as a firefighter realizing the reach his heroic actions had in the world.
Always delighted to hear Jenny’s enthusiasm over their latest trip or pet acquisition, they made each other’s lives special and meaningful.
Ron and I found common ground in his love of music and our shared experiences with musicians in Vancouver and beyond. He was a man that truly appreciated life and all it has to offer. He will be missed by us all.

My Friend Ron –
I had the good fortune of meeting Ron almost 30 years ago at one of our meetings. I believe I was around the same age he was when he first came to the program. I also had a family and a fairly decent job that I was hanging onto by a thread. I also had the desire to change.
Ron was so kind and gracious with me. I will never forget that. And every time we saw each other he would always mention how happy he was for me and how proud he was that I had put my life back on track. I know he did the same for so many others.
What a tremendous legacy he leaves behind.
We both shared the love of a great family and the ability to be the kind of parent and grandparent we should be as a result of what the program taught us. Something not many get to experience in this life.
Noon won’t be the same without seeing my friend Ron at his corner seat.
Vaya con Dios, my friend.
