I just learned of his passing so I'm sorry this is so late in coming. I worked with Gar for many years at the City of Vancouver and really got to know him and enjoyed his company and friendship. He taught me a lot and helped me in my career and I have some great memories of him. He could be hard but was always fair. He loved his family and would often talk about them when we would meet up for coffee at one of the golf courses in our area. Rest easy Gar.....

Thank you all for the kind words of comfort. Our dad loved to be involved. He didn’t just participate, he went all in. He was that way with us girls too. It was hard to watch him slowly wear down. While I/ (we), miss him tremendously, there is much comfort in picturing him with mom and other family fully enjoying and participating in all of the things he loved to do.

As a kid I remember Mr. Stuart to be the “authoritarian” around the ball park … .but later on came to know him as the gentle father figure of the softball fields He was a great man who cared for all … players, fans, parents & friends of the field!!!
My sincere condolences to Wendy & her sisters … and all those that Mr. Stuart has left behind … in your time of loss!!! May God’s arms of comfort be wrapped around you & provide you the strength to move forward as Mr. Stuart would have wanted you to!!
May his reposed soul rest in eternal paradise with all of our dearly departed, most especially with Mrs. (Kathy) Stuart with whom he was recently reunited!!!

Wendy, Susan and Jackie,
Growing up next door, our parents were such good friends and us as well. The Bowling years for our parents created a further bond as they were always active and laughing about something that had happened along the way. I am thinking of you all right now and hope in time you will remember the good times and the tears will disappear soon. Take care and see you Friday, Marion xx

To The Stuart Family
Sincere condolences to all of you at this very difficult time.
We have many fond memories of Gar, Kathy & their girls Wendy, Susan & Jackie during our time at Victoria Drive Softball & baseball. Gar was President of Girl’s Softball for several years. He was always a willing volunteer. We also shared memories of our time at Birch Bay although we were at a different trailer parks.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.
Gar & Kathy are reunited again.
No more suffering, no more pain. He is now at peace.
He will be missed and never forgotten.
