William Robert McCaughan, (Bill), of Maple Ridge, British Columbia died at home, with family by his side, at the age of 91 on November 23rd, 2020.

Bill was born in 1929, in Saint John New Brunswick, to the late Robert and Leota McCaughan. Bill spent 28 years in the Canadian Armed Forces from where he retired a Major. During his years of service, Bill met his wife of 56 years, Lynne, nee Pearson. Upon retirement from the military, Bill and Lynne settled in Brandon, Manitoba with son, Bob McCaughan and daughter, Carole (McCaughan) Chen. Leaving his military career on a Friday, Bill began his second career of 17 years as the Director of Administrative and Student Services at the Assiniboine Community College in Brandon. Following his retirement on 1998, Bill and Lynne spent several years wintering in Palm Springs California. In 2005 they moved to Langley British Columbia, and more recently to Maple Ridge where their daughter and two granddaughters, Addison and Darrah reside.

Bill leaves to mourn; his wife Lynne; his son Bob, and wife Tracey, and daughter Destiny; and his daughter Carole, partner Derek, and grand daughters, Addison and Darrah. Bill was predeceased by his brother David and leaves behind sisters Audrey and Helen, and brothers Burt and Pat, as well as several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Bill was a loving and supportive husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be missed dearly by all those who benefited from knowing him, sharing his sense of humor and received his affection.
