Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Pozzobon
Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With saddened hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Florence (Flo) Elizabeth Pozzobon (nee Barnes). She left us suddenly, surrounded by her loving family, on April 27. She will be greatly missed.
She was never happier than when with her family. Family always came first, and she loved us fiercely. We were very fortunate to have her as our mom.
She was intelligent, creative and so very funny to the last. She painted, sculpted, helped our father design homes, ran her own clothing boutique, was an avid reader and gardener, was both politically and environmentally active, and could write a wicked limerick at the drop of a hat. She felt education was of most importance, and in her fifties, went back to school to finish high school and college, consistently making Deans list. Quite an achievement. Above all, she was a great mother and friend.
Florence was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Pozzobon, and her daughter Catherine. Surviving family members are Victoria (Vicki) Frith (Robert), Gina Halinda (Christopher), Christina Pozzobon, and William Pozzobon (Tanya Harmon), her grandchildren, Jennifer Hetherington (Blair), Stephanie Ness South (Chad), Benjamin Frith, Robert Frith, Christoper Halinda and Kaitlyn Halinda (James) and her great grandchildren, Calynn, Allegra, Jayden, Bowen and Ruby. We miss her so.
At Mom’s request there will be no service. She also asked that no flowers be sent and that if you feel so inclined, donations could be made to Covenant House Vancouver (info@covenanthousebc.org ). She supported the wonderful and important work they do for youth.
