Obituary of Keith Sim

May 10, 1938 – April 07, 2023

 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Keith Sim.

 

Keith, as he was known by, passed in his sleep on April 07^th. He was predeceased by his Parents, Geordie & Dorothy Sim, brother Barrie Sim and sister in law Darlene Sim. Step siblings, Glen and Jean McMillian and stepbrother, Ross Richardson as well as his Daughter in law, Margaret Sim.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Leila as well as his son Scott (Denise) and Daughters Carol (David) and Dana (Kevin) as well as grand children, great grand children Nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Keith was a member of the RCMP for 27 ½ years and his final posting was in charge of the Abbotsford detachment. After he retired from the RCMP he went on to security and worked for Safeway as well as Expo 86. Changing direction, he became a realtor and then had a water works business on Gabriola Island.

 

Flying was one of Keith’s true passions. He had been a long standing member of the Abbotsford flying Club and in his younger years enjoyed many fly outs and club socials. He was previously the President of both the flying club and Abbotsford Airshow (2 years).

 

Keith had many talents will be missed by many.

 

A celebration of life is planned for the Abbotsford Flying Club on Saturday, April 22^nd at 11:00AM followed by refreshments.
