Obituary of Marie Janet Beyak

Marie Janet Beyak, 91, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023 in Cartier House, Coquitlam.  Born in St. James, Manitoba she was the oldest of three children to George and Anne Tonn.  She married Boris Beyak on July 4, 1949 and together raised four children in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  They moved to Vancouver in 1972 where she continued to support the family and give back to the community.  Marie was a wonderful Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma.  As a stay-at-home Mom, she was able to attend school field trips and volunteer her time supporting the elderly and persons with disabilities.  Marie leaves behind daughters Joyce (Dennis), Janet (Keith), and son Jeff (Monica).  She was predeceased by husband Boris in 2022 after almost 73 years of marriage and her son James (Dawn).  She leaves behind grandchildren, Kristopher, Tianna, Jaime, Kristyn, Erica, Hayley, Georgie, Reese, Sullivan and 10 great grandchildren.  The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff (particularly Karen, Charity, and “Dish”) at RJ Kent and the wonderfully supportive staff at Cartier House for providing exceptional care over the remaining years of her life. Her niece, Tammy Tonn, provided exemplary support to Marie and the family can’t thank her enough for her empathy and compassion over the years.  Marie will be greatly missed.

There will be no service as per Marie’s wishes.  Donations in Marie’s memory may be sent to the charity of your choice in her name.
