Bev and family,
I remember when Colin & Scott were very young and 'Uncle Jim' stopped by for a coffee because he was in the neighbourhood it was exciting for them. He alway took time to play with them. Whenever Jim Croce's song "You don't mess around with Jim" was playing they sang loudly along and said to whoever was around that was about their uncle. Good memories.
Bev, this is from a headstone in Ireland
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Love Ronni and Larry

Brisbin's,
We share in your grief following the passing of Jim. A great man gone too soon, we are so thankful to have been able to spend some nice quality time with him before he left this world. Jim, thank you for being such a big part of Beej's life back in his younger years, I know how appreciative he is of that. We will miss your jokes and quick whit and seeing you around at the ball fields. Your family is surrounded by so much love and we will all make sure that they are well taken care of for ya. And hopefully those Niners can pull up their socks and win you a Super Bowl this year!
With so much love,
Tanya & BJ

Remembering Uncle Jim – the laughs, the smiles, the elaborate joke setups, and the sometimes shocking punch lines – puts a smile on my face now just as much as when we were together. Uncle Jim’s unwavering good mood and endless repertoire of zingers brings so many fond memories, even the ones directed at me! It was impossible not to have a good time hanging out with Uncle Jim. A great Uncle, a great person – always interested and proud of us kids. Gone too soon, missed always.
Love Chase

My Big Brother
How I will miss you shocking me with your jokes and stories, your fabulous moustache, your very cool choice of clothing, your full head of hair, the loving way you spoke to my boys, the elegance of how you sat and your love of Dad and your respect for him that you always spoke of.
You could be such a rascal at times but that was part of your nature and charm and I always got such a laugh out of your shenanigans. You helped me to have the best belly laughs and how I will miss that.
Thank you for being my Big Brother for 59 years and many more in my heart as time goes by. Time to say goodbye which I do with such sorrow but I know that we will meet again.
You and Dan will have so many jokes to shock me with and Mum and Dad will be looking on with love and joy. Love your Sis. Marcia xoxo

When I think of uncle Jim, my mind inevitably wonders to the Ice Rink and Papa and Grammy’s house.
Growing up, I always loved when the hockey schedule rolled out and I found out we would play Poco. Not only did it mean competing against my cousin Drew it meant seeing Uncle Jim in one of his favourite places. After each game he would always have a list of his personal highlights to share along with a suggestion for next time.
My uncle Jim memories from Grammy and papa’s always take in the late 80s early 90s theme. My favourites are from Boxing Day. Sitting around the rec room listening to uncle Dan and uncle Jim trying to convince Grammy to put on the game. The tree in the corner with presents seemingly overflowing. Of course the moustaches! What a great moustache uncle Jim of the 80s had!
Perhaps what I will most about uncle Jim were the jokes. No matter the setting or your age Uncle Jim could somehow find a way to pull you a side, look you in the eye with a glint of naughtiness and tell you a joke that was well beyond your years. Whether you were 8 or 38. In those moments he made you feel like the most important person in the room.
Uncle Jim will be so greatly missed by all those that new what those moments were like.
All my Love Noah

My Brother Jim
Knowing you're with Mom makes your passing a little easier. You've been taken from us too early but I know I will see you again. I heard a good joke today and actually thought " I have to call Jim and tell him" but it's not to be.
I Miss You Brother
"I remember when you closed your eyes, there was peace and courage on your face.
I saw you didn't fear who you'll meet when you reached the gates.
So I know you're in a better place.
You live on in our hearts brother."
Until we meet again
Love you now and always

Dear Jim,
I'll always remember the wonderful days we spent golfing with your brothers and the boys. These were all very special days playing golf from Pemberton to the coast. My most special memory is the time we were at your cabin for 5 days and played all the golf courses in the Okanagan, and later sitting on the porch after dinner having a beer and enjoying the peacefulness of the lake. These 5 days will always be in my heart and will be with me forever.
Love Dad xxxx

I remember Uncle Jim from my very first "meet the extended family" get together. He immediately put me at ease with his good humour and storytelling. I always looked for him at family gatherings and enjoyed his banter, jokes, and all around good nature. He could make a friend anywhere!

Dear Jim, My most wonderfull memories are the many hours we spent on the golf course, sometimes with friends and family and some times just the two of us. My most special memory is the five days we spent at the cabin together and played a diferent course in the okanogan every day. We will miss you but will think of you whenever a truck goes bye. Love Mom and Dad
