Obituary of Alojzy Wenta

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my friend and ex husband, Alex (Alojzy) Wenta, who passed away in Vancouver on October 30th, 2023, of natural causes after suffering many years from an alcohol addiction.

He was born in Rumia, Poland on June 20, 1958.

He leaves behind his family in Europe, his mother, Helena Wendt, his brothers, Zenon Wenta and Zbigniew Wenta, his son Dawid Wenta, nephews, nieces, cousins and grandchildren. And of course his beloved cat , Bobby.

Also mourning his loss are his Canadian non-biological family, Greg Beyer, Karen Beyer, Kevin Beyer, Heike Beyer, their children, Corinne Love, her children, Ryan Van Tunen and Samantha Morneau.

We have lost a man that was smart, creative and whom could fix anything he set his mind to. He was liked by many despite some of the choices he made due to his addiction.

Alex you can now put your troubles behind you and be with your late loved one Lorina Carmichael, good friend Vern Tamke, and your dogs Monty and Abby. May there be a great welcoming party for you, my friend.

“I did not see you close your eyes or hear your last sigh. I only heard that you were gone, too late to say goodbye”. Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.

Local family will be holding a memorial for Alex in the New Year at a later date to be announced, when we can say our goodbyes, share memories and have some laughs.
