Obituary of Dean Richards
Please share a memory of Dean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It comes with heavy hearts we say good by to Howard Dean Richards. of Burnaby, BC. Born March 22, 1961 in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, he was a son to the late Joyce Richards and Howard Richards. Predeceased by his younger brother Jamie Richards and nephew Ian Richards. Dean is survived by his sisters, Roxanne Richards, (Sophia, Rhea); Jill Christiansen (Colton, Delton) and his great nephews and nieces.
Dean had a kind, sweet heart which allowed him to easily connect with others. His quick wit and fearless attitude was a source of comic relief and healing for everyone who knew him. Dean lived in Saskatchewan for his younger years, the family moved to Calgary, Alberta where he finished school. The start of his working career started after moving to Revelstoke BC in 1980, where he worked in the logging industry and worked in the oil patch with his Uncle Bruce. Dean moved to Vancouver 35 years ago and truly loved Vancouver. He started his roofing career and continued on to work as a Service Technician for Penfold roofing. His work friends were like family and very important to him, and for Dean, being a hard worker, filled him with the greatest joy. Dean enjoyed hiking, swimming, cooking, biking to the beach and playing his guitar. He was an avid reader and enjoyed building models. Dean had a love for animals, but his special spot was for his nephews and nieces and kids in general.
His goodness lives on in all his family and friends. As time slowly replaces the deep loss and sadness, his family and friends will celebrate Dean’s life by sharing and retelling favourite tales of our brave, beautiful “Dean”.
