We were greatly saddened to read that Nick had passed. I first met him more than 40 years ago when I came to Vancouver as Publisher at The Province. I was impressed by him right from the beginning and take pride in my role in advancing his career all the way to senior management. He was throughout our years as colleagues a superb manager, fine leader, distinguished by his honesty, integrity and optimism. His social side, with his beloved Marnie, showed off his love of life, his love of dancing and his joy as a family man.
Suffice it to say one could have no better colleague or friend than Nick. We'll miss him.
Pat and Gerry Haslam,
Vancouver

Oh my goodness! I have so many great memories of my Cousin Nick. Family dinners and gatherings, always smiling, showering my sister and I with attention when we were little.
Nick and Marnie’s beautiful wedding was a very special celebration of love. It left a lasting impression on me. The birth of their daughter and later their son. The strong bond he had with his brother, Roger and his family. He definitely was a loving, family man. How much he reminded me of his Mom whom I loved dearly. It was his smile and his kind ways.
So thankful for our last get together celebrating Roger and Susan’s 50th Anniversary.
That’s when I witnessed just how much strength and love he had for his family. I will miss his hugs, his laughter and will always cherish decades of memories.❤️ Much love, Kathy Smith
