Your dad just loved to have fun. When I moved in next door to him I didn’t even have a lawnmower, your dad was there with his. He was a great friend and never hesitated to help you when it was needed. That being our first house God knows we needed it. He said there was nothing more relaxing than watching the lawn sprinkler go around in the summertime, I said yes that’s true but, there is one that will make that even better. Captain Morgan! He agreed. We shared many a Captain Morgan from that moment on. Cec is the only guy I know that would wash his car in a snow storm. He was a perfectionists in many ways sometimes to extreme of being annoying but that never got in the way of our friendship. He loved a practical joke and we shared many of them and I still smile when I think of the extent we would go to, trying to outdo one another. I used to visit him when he moved to Somerset Drive, and give him a bad time, that there wasn’t a seat in the hallway for an old guy to sit on when putting your shoes on. One of the last time I visited him he had purchased a bench for the hallway that he called Jerry’s bench. Damn I wish I had used that bench more often now. Cec you weren’t suppose to go so young. Cec thad some favourite stories, he could tell them to you ten years later and he wouldn’t have changed a word in it. He loved his daughter and often talked to me about her successes, and he always supported her. All the time I knew Cec I don’t remember him getting mad. He had a favourite saying which he used on me a few times “loosen up” and it would make me smile and it usually work. Well pal we will see you out in the cosmos and you better have a drink of the Captain for me or you will saying for Christ’s sake Rivard “loosen up”. See you my friend.

My sincerest condolences to you Stacey, and the rest of your family. Cec was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed. As a union member and shop steward he always thought of and put others ahead of himself. He exemplified class and enriched the lives of many.

Although I did not cross paths often with Cec, he was always smiling and his door was always open. He treated everyone kindly & fairly, and was a generous soul. My love and condolences goes out to Stacey, her family and all of Cec’s close friends. He will be missed. Conrad
